| Campaigns In the campaigns area you can move your troops from platoon to platoon in preparation for military action. The campaigns area also keeps you updated on the status of your forces.
Troop Distribution: You move your troops by selecting the type of troops you wish to move, inserting the number you wish to move, and correctly selecting from where and to where you would like the troops to move. Once you've done that much, click "Move Troops" and watch the numbers change below.
Status Area: The status area is located directly below the Troop Distribution area. Here you can see the status of your troops at home and in other platoons. You have four platoons that may march out to other kingdoms while one is permanently stationed at home. Each platoon is designated a general and can be given command over any number or type of troops you have in your army. The status area also gives the location of your platoons, to where your platoons may currently be marching and how many days it will be before your forces arrive at that location.
Planning an Attack: To plan an attack, simply distribute any amount of military units into the chosen platoon(s). Then check the box to the right of that platoon and click the "Plan Action" button below. From there you will be taken to the "Plan Actions" area. If at any time you wish to recall your forces before a military action is carried out, you may do so by selecting the box in the second light-colored column to the right of that platoon and click the "Call Home" button below. Troops called home take as many days to return as they've been out for.
Mercenaries: Mercenaries can be hired for attacks by utilizing the bottom area of the Campaigns page. You input the number of mercenaries to hire and when you click Hire they are added to your home forces.Vermin mercenaries cost 500 gold each to hire and have 3 attack strength. Goodbeast mercenaries cost 250 gold each to hire and have 2 attack strength.
The mercenaries remain in the platoon until you attack with them. They won't take part in defense, and thus won't die if your kingdom is attacked while mercenaries sit at a platoon at home. After attacking, the mercenaries leave the platoon and are no more. They last for only one attack.
You may not send more mercenaries in a platoon than half of all the other creatures in that platoon. So, in a platoon of 5,000 creatures, you may have a maximum of 2,500 mercenaries.
